Fall is my absolute favorite season! Sure, my birthday kick starts it off but the colors of the leaves and the crisp temperatures outside make it cozy. Brieanne and Brandon’s autumn wedding in St. Helena (about 1.5 hours north of San Francisco) was a perfect event to photograph in so many ways. Their friends and family had a great sense of humor and care for one another. The weather was to die for and what could be more romantic than a wedding in wine country?! Harvest Inn hosted this small and intimate occasion. It was my first time there and certainly not my last. A lodgy feel with a winery twist, the ceremony was hosted outside on the courtyard facing the vineyards. The grape harvest was over, however, the leaves had started to change color. At sunset, everything glowed gold and greens, which matched the floral arrangements and bouquets perfectly!

I love the sunflowers! I haven’t seen them used much, which is a shame. The color and shape is so happy!

Ever since Brieanne could remember, her grandfather wore red socks everyday. In remembrance, the groom and his groomsmen wore bright red socks! A very thoughtful idea.

Breathtaking isn’t it? I love sunsets, but I love Northern California sunsets even more. The courtyard was quickly switched from ceremony to reception while the guests had cocktail hour in another outdoor grassy area. You might not be able to see them in the images but there are string lights that hang over the courtyard, which provided just enough light during dinner for wedding photos.

Even though Harvest Inn is intimate in space, there are many spots to photograph bridal portraits. You would never know it was only a 3 second walk!

I had no idea that Brieanne, her sister and cousin were trained in Irish dancing! Wow, they were amazing! She got bonus points in my book for doing it in her dress! Special thanks to Jason of Bay Area Entertainment for coordinating and providing music.
