I have always been fascinated with great patterns and designs, and my recent trip to Paper Source inspired me to chat about the awesome things you can do with your wedding paper needs (invites, save the date cards, thank you notes, table cards, etc). One thing brides & grooms may not realize is that your save the date card or wedding invitation sets the tone of your upcoming wedding day. It’s your first impression so why not make it memorable!

There are a few routes that you could go: do it yourself or custom. Both are equally as wonderful, it all depends on your budget, time, and design style. There are many studios that provide custom stationary and letterpress work. I always like to refer my brides to Peculiar Pair Press in the bay area, where owners and friends Amy & Mary Beth create fresh and elegant letterpress and designs. Check out other design sites and paper sources to see which style fits you as a couple best. Jot down a few key words that describe you guys as a couple and translate those into color and paper…even your decor! When you’ve established a few different ideas, book appointments with studios or check out paper stores to actually feel the papers and see what’s out there. I’m a hands-on person, it definitely helps bring ideas together when you can touch the materials and talk to someone with more knowledge. Contrasts in colors, complimentary patterns and textures are incredible in photographs, a photographer’s dream!
