Meet Ebi! For the past few days I was kitty-sitting Ebi for a good friend and neighbor. I noticed that they didn’t have any photos of Ebi around so I decided to have a photo shoot and surprise them with photos around the apartment! I think it’s essential to document loved ones in your life, including your pets. Professional pet photography has really come far and is a huge trend right now. Many (like myself) consider their pets as their own children so every moment is precious. Check out “I love Bostons” for some of my dog photos! I highly recommend having professional photos taken…this way you can be included in them as well!

One of my favorite dog photographers is Ann Hamilton, located in San Francisco. She photographs weddings as well, but I admire her documentary, free-spirited style in her dog portraits. I think it’s important to find a photographer that shares your style. If you are looking for fun outdoor photos you wouldn’t hire a traditional photographer, etc. Many documentary photographers will join you during a walk or play date at the dog park. This ensures that the pet’s personality is captured and keeps the experience pleasant for everyone. Photographing cats is similar (except no cat parks) because a photographer will usually come to the house/apt. Check out the ‘portraits’ section of my website for more photos!
