Trends of 2008 – Wedding Hairstyles

Time to plan some hair dos! Wedding hairstyles should be classic, playful, sexy, timeless and MOST importantly….comfortable! The more comfortable you are with your appearance the better the photographs turn out! Guaranteed! It’s important to plan a hair strategy when organizing your wedding plans. Check out all the pictures of hairstyles you can (until it makes you sick) because as for many – the hair sets the mood. And most importantly – check with your hair stylist to see if it works for you – always leave it to the pros. If you plan on doing it yourself – practice, practice, practice…can’t say that enough. I’ve included several of my fav hairstyles within this posting along with some of the runway trends this year. Check it out!

The hair styles above are from the runways of Melissa Sweet, Oscar de la Renta & Christos. These are free flowing, natural, healthy everyday hair styles that are worn down and in a subtle way. Many brides decide to keep their hair long or grow it long for a particular updo style. I say it’s best to decide what matches your personality and style best. I have seen brides that walk around with “after the wedding day” hair pictures that they plan to take to a salon afterwards but why not get that cute hair style prior to the wedding day?! It’s as if there was a signal that pops into each brides mind when they get engaged that says they can’t cut their hair before the wedding. Not true!! Changing your style prior to the wedding would allow that fresh new start to actually start on the first day of you being together not the day after :) The overall theme of the runway hair styles this year is about bringing out the best in your beauty- not needing fancy curls or glitter accessories. It’s about making what you’ve got the best that it is. The hair style you chose should make you shine and glamorize your personality, not the other way around.

Accessories in moderation is key for the wedding day!

Real or fake flowers are often used as an accessory. Often times a real flower will be put into the hair just before the reception because they will wilt. Consult with your florist on what types of flowers are best used for hair purposes. Look for something that compliments your dress, makeup, maybe even theme for the day but most importantly something that will stand up to the days events!

It seems that a variety of headbands are also making their way into the trend of 2008 for accessories. Very versatile and can go with just about any type of hair style and texture.

This is good hair style for bride. I think once i surely try this.
Thanks

Thought I’d take a look- knowing how much I love to change my hair, this is some good advice! Even though I don’t need to plan for it yet. Ha.
