Decorating with Photos - gifts, favors, home

Photos courtesy of Martha Stewart

Originally, I was on the hunt for Mother’s Day (May 11th) craft ideas because nothing says ‘I love you’ like a thoughtful gift. I found these 4 outstanding, diy projects that you could incorporate pet photos, wedding photos, baby photos or any photo for that matter! I think it’s important to give life to the images on cd and show them off. With everything being digital these days, seems that people forget to print photos! A reason why I offer an album and many other print materials with every wedding I book! I love the bottle-cap idea for napkins or place settings for a guest table. The tin cans would make personal wedding favors. Click for instructions: Personalized Magnets & Tins, Bottle-cap Magnets & Thumbtacks, Accordion Gallery, Pet Photo.

  1. after searching around on etsy for eons, trying to find something that my mother would like (she’s impossible to shop for) it occurred to me to try and make something on my own. so i made cameos of myself, my brother, and my mom from pictures i had taken a while back of our profiles, and after some tweaking in photoshop and scanning in some pretty paper for backgrounds, voila! insta-cameos. Add some cute frames, and mother’s day ‘08 is in the books. (i even have directions, for any curious copycats!)

  2. Big fan of the bottle cap thumbtacks! I have been thinking about starting an inspiration board lately–man, I need a studio!
