Finding the Best Wedding Photographer & Results!

best wedding photographer

Photos: Edyta Szyszlo Photography

Once again, thanks for being patient with the shortage of posts! This week is moving week for me so they will be even slimmer :( I promise things will go back normal soon…

I can’t stress enough about how important it is to hire a strong and well-rounded photographer for your wedding day. It’s not unusual to ask a bride how her wedding day went and all she can say is how wonderful it was but it’s all a blur! So many details happen on your precious day mixed in with friends and family, it’s only expected that your memory be a little mixed up!

There are three questions you should ask yourself before hiring a wedding photographer: How much do I want to spend, how do I want to remember my wedding, and how comfortable will you feel with your photographer? (more…)

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Despite some big storms, I had the pleasure of photographing Jenica and Garrett’s engagement session yesterday! Mother Earth broke the clouds up just in time for our date in downtown Chicago, thanks for being such troopers! They were such a blast to hang out with, and I can’t wait for their wedding day, which downtown Chicago is also hosting in October! (more…)

Fusebox Art’s - 20 and Under Show!

Edyta Szyszlo News, Misc, Photography — edyta @ 4:11 pm

fusebox art\'s 20 and under show

I know, I know…the posts haven’t been as frequent! Very sorry! The month of June is crazy for me with weddings and we are moving! Thanks for your patience.

I was asked a couple months ago to donate some work for Fusebox Art’s 20 and Under Show, (benefiting Chicago charities) during the Andersonville Street Festival in Chicago this past weekend. I took it as an opportunity to get a little more creative so as you can see I decided to reuse my thrifty plates as my canvas! I purchased clear mylar adhesive inkjet paper at my local art supply store and printed some of my favorite black and white wedding photographs. After adhering, I sprayed a thick clear gloss to seal and level the photographs. I attached some picture hanging hooks to the back and there it was! I thought they turned out super cute! I had some friends attend the show Saturday night and mentioned my piece (above) had been purchased already! Very easy and inexpensive way to create unique settings for your photographs!

Happy Friday!!! This Tying the Knot Moment is one of my favs so far!! Friend and photographer, Michelle Walker (based out of the San Francisco area) emailed these awesome photos to share! Super hip couple, Eulalia and Paul, were married in Chileno Valley Ranch in Petaluma, CA this past May. Their seating cards were hung by string, as seen above. In order for guests to retrieve their name, they had to exchange the seating card with a polaroid taken of them! Super cute! Thanks for sharing Michelle!! Advice: assign the task and station to one or two friends to help the flow.

Baby Portraits of Adalyn & Ayla - Missouri!

I’m back in Chicago! After a mini vacation to Missouri for a friend’s wedding and some extra time off visiting old friends, I am back to the blog! Thanks for being patient! Wonder what I did during some of that time off? Baby portraits! My friends Ashley and Amos have two very cute little girls, I just had to photograph them! Ayla has grown so much and it was my first time meeting little Adalyn. Photographing children in their natural environment of toys and family is absolutely the best way of capturing their personalities! Check out more images… (more…)

Groom’s wedding attire! So much out there and not enough people chatting about it! A groom’s wedding day attire is just as important as the bride’s - coordinating it can be a bit difficult with several choices, fittings, and styles. The three questions you should ask yourself when planning - What’s my style? Location of wedding? What time of year is the wedding? Same for brides. We’ll take a look at options and give you some advice along the way…. (more…)
