Ladies – you won’t be disappointed with this post – isn’t he handsome?! Bare with me this week as posts will be limited because I’m out of town.

Groom’s wedding attire! So much out there and not enough people chatting about it! A groom’s wedding day attire is just as important as the bride’s – coordinating it can be a bit difficult with several choices, fittings, and styles. The three questions you should ask yourself when planning – What’s my style? Location of wedding? What time of year is the wedding? Same for brides. We’ll take a look at options and give you some advice along the way….

When planning your wedding day there are four basic styles: Classic, Contemporary, Seasonal, Themed. Apply the same concept to the groom’s suit in coordination with the 3 answers to the above questions. Trends for groom’s have veered from the rental tux (although still popular, especially for budget-conscious couples) and have purchased, whether it’s tuxedo or suit. While purchasing may present more costs, but it’s important to have one suit in the wardrobe, just as the black dress.

Location and time of the year usually means that in summer you wear cotton and winter you can wear wool. It’s not necessarily the way it looks but how comfortable you want to stay. Cotton (linen too) will allow the suit to breathe so for outdoor, day-time ceremonies it’s the best. Some sources say not to wear black before 5pm because of it’s formality, but I don’t think it’s implemented much these days.

Black, tan, & linen are the most popular suit choices, however, navy, pin-stripe & gray are showing more popularity.

Rental tuxes – seems that Men’s Warehouse has a wide variety of choices.

If you want to add a little variety to your suit chose a tie with some a pattern or vibrant color. Bow ties should stay classic black as colored ones can look more like prom.
