Trends of 2010 – Pantone’s Turquoise Color of the Year!

Ah, the adults crayon box. Pantone announced their 2010 color of the year! Pantone 15-5519! A little history session for those who are not design-oriented. “In 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone’s founder, created an innovative system for identifying, matching and communicating colors to solve the problems associated with producing accurate color matches in the graphic arts community. His insight that the spectrum is seen and interpreted differently by each individual led to the innovation of the PANTONE® MATCHING SYSTEM®, a book of standardized color in fan format.”
What this means for you…well, you might see this color more often than not. Similar hues have hit the wedding industry, but I predict this hip color making more of a presence in weddings with other hip colors such as poppy, burnt orange and mustard yellow! Also, I’ve been eyeing the Pantone mugs for the last year after I saw them at Sprout Home but can’t justify the expense :) Would make a good gift! Color on! ps – all pantone dinnerware on sale here.
Pantone color of the year! Dope. I work at Sprout, and just wanted to let you know, that we know sell the mugs individually. This is just me being overly excited about Pantone… nothing to do with Sprout really.

I love these mugs! Especially the tea set, those colors were the perfect choices.
