I hate to be the one to bring this up….but with summer almost over it’s time to get in gear for the holidays!  Ok, I admit….I am SO not ready but the planner that I am, I’d like to help all of you out!  It’s time to start thinking and doing.  Photographs make the best gifts and cards!  Book a casual photography session with your favorite people or pets and let the images say it best.  The best is to book a photographer now so there is plenty time for production and card/print ordering, especially if you plan on sending out many holiday cards.  You’ll need time to write and ship.  Keep your photos simple and theme free for timeless use or add some holiday humor - be creative!  Most photographers offer all the products needed to make your prints and cards extra special!  I’m booking sessions now until end of November for the holiday deadline- contact me for more info and pricing!

I’m back in Chicago! After a mini vacation to Missouri for a friend’s wedding and some extra time off visiting old friends, I am back to the blog! Thanks for being patient! Wonder what I did during some of that time off? Baby portraits! My friends Ashley and Amos have two very cute little girls, I just had to photograph them! Ayla has grown so much and it was my first time meeting little Adalyn. Photographing children in their natural environment of toys and family is absolutely the best way of capturing their personalities! Check out more images… (more…)

Ayla is a bit bigger these days as these baby portraits where taken a couple years ago in Missouri. (check out my portfolio, click portraits & 2) I am headed to Missouri for a friend’s wedding (not working!) in the beginning of June and will have another photo session with Ayla and her new sis, Adalyn who will be turning 1 in July! Wow does the time fly! I wanted to share these photos so you could see her ‘then’ and her ‘now’ soon! Can’t wait to see the Quadruplet A’s, as I like to call them (Amos, Ashley, Ayla & Adalyn)! Routine for most of my mornings, I like to catch the Today Show while I sip my coffee and check emails. This morning was particularly special as they featured a story about professional photographers volunteering their time and talent to capturing the first few moments of the family and their newborn. There are so many great people out there. Here’s the link the the video from the Today Show.

The non-profit organization was formed by Cheryl Haggard and Sandy Puc in April of 2005 after their personal experience of loosing their child. They named the organization NILMDTS (Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep) after the children’s bedtime prayer. The organization and it’s photographers has provided thousands of families of babies who are stillborn or are at risk of dying as newborns free professional portraits with their baby. NILMDTS has nearly 3, 200 affiliated photographers in 12 countries worldwide. This is an incredible organization and my heart goes out for them and the families they care for.
