Happy Booking Season! It’s here and it’s in full swing. Hiring a wedding photographer can be quite a drag. Websites/blogs until your eyes pop, chatty consultations galore that make your throat sore, contracts, albums, who’s available/who’s not. It’s like being on first dates over and over! So I’m going to make it easy on you and let you get to know me better through my own online personal ad because you already know I take photos… (more…)

Round 2 of baby sessions! Meet Eleanor aka Ellie. She’s only 6 weeks old, and she was ‘made’ by my past wedding clients Brieanne and Brandon, who are now dear friends. Brieanne has been quite taken with the baby world for a while now so we all knew it was coming sooner than later :) Ellie, I give you the gold trophy for being the most expressionistic baby I’ve ever met, hands down! Yay to your first! This was our Saturday morning with Ellie and her new little family! (Thanks Enjoy Events Co. for the holiday garland that I repurposed!) (more…)

Yay it’s 2012! Hope your holidays were a hoot :) Today, I’m coming at you with a couple of San Francisco baby portrait sessions that I’ve done in the past month or so. for the most part, I only offer these sessions for past wedding clients of mine so when I do have the opportunity to snuggle up with a newish-born I’ll take it :) You might remember Sam’s parents’ wedding here. Sam and his fam cozied up in the best spot of the house…the bed!! Here are some of my favorites from our shoot… (more…)

Greetings from afar! Not really but wow have I been blog m.i.a right? Tis the holiday season, not to mention a very busy wedding season is now over. I’m wayyyyy behind on showcasing some of the fun projects that I’ve had a pleasure photographing this year. So I will do my best to get those all up between now and into the new year. Wow, the new year…CRAZY! This past summer Hello!Lucky and I started dating a bit…and well things hit it off! I’ve been very fortunate to have photographed several hero and detail shots of their social stationery (wedding invitations, save the dates, personal stationery), baby announcements, greeting cards and postcards and last but not least their famous holiday cards. You can see a good chunk of our work together on their brand spankin new website that launched in early November. I’m so fortunate to have our photos featured in their print ads for Real Simple and Anthology magazine along with Design Sponge and several other blogs. Lots more to come from us so watch out ;) Hello!Lucky cheers to you on all big new things. For trusting my prop styling and all in all – being the fantastic creative force that you are. Clink to the HL family of sales, printing, designers…YOU ROCK! Enjoy some of my favorites in this part one… (more…)

What do you get when two creatives wed in the fall?! Pure yay! Kristen and Ben’s City Hall mini wedding was full of vintage inspirations, diy fall details (like the flowers, can you believe she designed and arranged them!?), lots of laughter, surprises and San Francisco charm. We met Ben at our first look spot and found a wedding date sign that he made then Kristen surprised Ben and family with a pop-up bag reception (including a banner, sparkling cider & Frank Sinatra via her ipod) outside in the plaza. Wondering where she got her dress, here! We had so much fun…this is what weddings are all about. Enjoy! (more…)

An extra special treat to show you! I don’t normally photograph maternity (baby or family) sessions unless they are past brides/grooms of mine. I usually leave it to the other pros that specialize in this genre ;) But it was a special treat to photograph Brieanne and Brandon’s baby bump (not so baby, she’s due this month!!) as I photographed their wedding in late 2007. We wanted a relaxed, casual vibe highlighting them as a couple and the gorgeousness of San Francisco…not to mention avoiding cheesiness at all costs. We were beyond successful! These were a few favorites of mine: warning cozy blanket cuddling alert!! (more…)

Yay! I’m showing you a sneak which means wedding production is moving along! (weddings left & right hang tight) Annette and Danny, what can I say? Her dimples, his dapper ways, their charming smiles and oh-so cute sneaky looks at each other. There’s nothing you can’t love about this classic and upscale meets handmade San Francisco wedding! And what a great and swanky blank canvas Terra Art Gallery provides! Annette even designed ALL the paper goods! Thanks to my second in photo command Jenna. Enjoy this sneak!! (more…)

Hello!! Working away on another crazy fall season (can’t believe tomorrow is the 1st day of fall & my bday)! But let’s focus on today! I’m giving you a sneak of cultural goodness, Nina and Scott’s hybrid Indian-American wedding! Don’t let the bright colors, sparkles and vivid details fool you, this happy couple’s love was delicate and casual. Just the way I like it! The perfect combination of glam and California cool. One minute they’re dancing romantically and then next busting out into a Bollywood dance! And let’s not talk about how gorgeous they both are ;) It was a blast and a nice breath of fresh wedding air. Thanks so much to my right-hand photo lady Abi! (more…)

Youna, Tim and I started our serendipitous portrait adventure in the charming Hayes Valley neighborhood just before their SF City Hall ceremony. Pretty pastels, pops of fuschia florals and a lime green bow tie highlighted their soft and charming personalities. It’s really nice photographing a petite wedding (1 of 2 weddings for Youna & Tim) because they tend to be more relaxed and care-free. Youna even showed me one of her skilled talents of piggybacking Tim (Youna, don’t worry I didn’t include that photo here)! Big shout out to Natalie Bowen Designs for the as-always chic florals! Enjoy the sneak! (more…)

If you’ve caught on, I’m calling engagement sessions love shoots now. Mainly because 1). they sound more charming & 2). you don’t have to be engaged to enjoy a little love photo session (and they can happen post wedding if you like)! This one is especially special to me because it captures a true foggy San Francisco summer (coldest winter quote: was it Hemingway or Twain or?). While the rest of the country sweats in 100 degree humid temps, we wear jackets and I love it :) Our ‘summers’ actually start in Aug/Sept. and go to December (an education lesson for ya). These lovebirds and I embraced the romantic fog and visited their neighborhood spots (Alamo Square aka Full House) and cuddled at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. Enjoy! (more…)
