Hello Hello friends! I’m back in San Francisco and whew, I’m fighting some major jet lag. It was much easier to adjust to the 16 hour time difference when traveling to Korea. Why did I go?! To photograph Youna and Tim’s Korean wedding in Seoul last Friday, of course! And one can’t go and not see the sites right?! So my main squeeze and I packed our bags and explored the city of Seoul. I’ll be sure to give a sneak of their wedding and more when production is done :) Seoul was charming with a mix of old and new everything. The biggest trends were coffee, coffee shops, retail shops/galleries that also sold coffee and multi-cultural foods (Italian esp)! Ladies, it was a heaven for flats! We did a little of the touristy thing and much of the local. I know many of you followed me through Instagram (have I told you lately how much I love you?!) but maybe some of you missed it. Do not fear! Social media is here! On IG and Twitter you can search for the hash tag #edytainseoul (for more images also check out #ashtraybuddha on IG and Jared’s site) and for those of you without IPhones check it out here. Youna and Tim, 감사합니다 (kamsahamnida!)
It’s been exactly one week since I’ve been home from my trip to Seattle. It was exactly what I needed: refreshing, regrouping, refocusing and relaxing! It was my first time (hard to believe!) but it’s been on my list to visit for quite some time. I ate, I drank and I was very merry. From here on out, I will require myself to take a solo trip once a year to rejuvenate and get myself together. Lots of awesome things on the horizon for 2012, and I wanted to be competely ready to take it all in. So I brain dumped into my journal, took photos and posted them only through my IPhone and followed the suggestions of Design Sponge and my friends of Belathée Photography around Seattle. These are straight from the phone… (more…)
Last weekend was delightfully eventful! I flew to Chicago to photograph a fun wedding and threw our dear friends the best.baby.shower.ever! (Remember their diy paper pop-up invitations?) I’m still bowing down to the best little helper friends a girl could ask for! Without your help, this could not have happened. The day was full of love, laughter, gourmet potluck goodies, handmade details and rain while cozing up fireside at Suzanne Cummings Flowers. Nat and Jeff, Cheers to your first little baby kiwi girl! You and her will be loved forever, from Auntie Edyta. (more…)
Behind the scenes are the best! You get a sense of how someone lives, works, plays and is. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the all-in-one space of Sitting in a Tree Events San Francisco’s half, Myka! Super sleek, white, light, airy with hints of feminine pretties! Be sure to get the full scoop at The Collection Event Studio’s blog, Part I (the space) here and Part II (the closet) here. Myka you’re the cutest! I’ve included some of my favorites…. (more…)
Hello Tuesday! Flew back into San Francisco last night to wake up to my blog’s birthday and crazy tired eyes. So worth it! Such a fantastic time hanging with my ladies Forget Me Knot, Sitting in a Tree Events, Enjoy Events and more! It was just the cure I needed for my winter blues. Lots of good food, new friends, wedding inspirations and bootie shaking was had. Also nice to physically meet all you fine Twitter folks! Bash, Please and Urbanic Paper I clap to you for putting on one fab event! Would love to be a part of the next one, hint hint and wink wink. (more…)
What happens when 2 photographers get together for a photoshoot?! THIS! I’ll admit, very weird blogging photos of myself…but when you have a vision in your head and it translates to print so perfectly it causes for celebration :) Sarah, you were simply amazing even though my awkwardness in front of the camera took over at points (you’d think otherwise right? uh, no), you were able to capture exactly who I am!! Too many good ones to post but here are some of the favorites… (more…)
Hello there! Thought I’d share what I’ve been working on the past few days (anyone hear the crickets? hehe). I had the pleasure of photographing stock images for the San Francisco School of Massage’s new website. This is just a little sneak peak since I didn’t want to give away too much before they unveil their new site. So many great shots were taken of students and instructors along with massage interaction, probably the most peaceful shoot I’ve ever had! It was amazing! So here are some of my favorites (without giving away anyone’s identity). FYI, lots of secret projects on the horizon…I’ll do my best to share what I can! (more…)
I’m doing dandy! Things have been a little hectic since my return home…inquiries, email catch-up, lots of new events and ideas on the rise…my brain won’t shut off! Yesterday, I had the pleasure photographing an elopement in St. Helena! The sun was shining, the mustard colored wildflowers were in plenty! Who said wine country wasn’t pretty in winter? I had to stop and snap the shutter for evidence :) This week will still be a bit busy but should be slowing down soon. Btw, if you had a picture taken with Smitten Sticks at Indie Wed or for an event/wedding recently, I’d love for your to upload it here! Or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
“Edyta Szyszlo and Jared Grellner just moved in to this charming Laurel Heights apartment, but it’s not evident by the looks of it. Edyta, a professional photographer with a knack for design, and Jared, an architect wth a knack for DIY, have focused their carefully trained eyes on their shared space, and have managed to put together a gorgeous home for themselves and their two cats.”
Yay! Our San Francisco house tour is finally live on the site! Come read and view more details here!
As you are reading this, I’m on a plane flying to Chicago for the weekend! Grace and Geoffrey’s wedding day has arrived! So while I’m away, I invite you to browse my new living quarters in San Francisco. J and I worked very hard putting this place together, and I think it suites both of our dandy personalities extremely well. Don’t just stand there, come on in! (more…)
