Grace and Geoff (view engagement) were an absolutely beautiful and smiley couple! Their wedding started the season of travels for me – flying back to Chicago from San Francisco many times until winter. And what a fantastic one to start it all off! I know, you’re just as shocked as I am with the word ‘fall’! Well it pretty much was in Chicago over the past weekend while I was visiting for work. Usually, it’s hot and humid…but somehow Chicago managed to be colder than San Francisco! This time of year, I love San Francisco for it’s indian summer – a real one :) So while in Chicago, I photographed Baby Dolls Boutique’s new location for the upcoming website. Have a lured you in?! Over the weekend, I stopped into Forever 21 (yes I know, teeny-bop galore) for a couple basic t-shirts. They’re super cheap! Anyway, I found the most amazing twisted strap, white chiffon maxi dress on the 2nd floor of the downtown San Francisco location….AND I can’t find it online anywhere. But it’s still worth chatting about..it was under $30 and super cute!! Lots of us on budgets these days, even more so if you’re planning a wedding. Think out of the box when shopping for that wedding dress….I’m definitely a believer of style but if I could go on a fabulous honeymoon with the money that I used to purchase my dress, I would! The key to an under $50 wedding dress? Research, explore and don’t look for the word ‘wedding’! Go to the sale racks and enter stores you thought you’d never go to. Keep an open mind and think ‘cocktail dress’. Good luck!

I.heart.the.sash! Brides and bridesmaids have been wearing sashes around their dresses for a while now. Clients have asked me where to find inexpensive sashes (bridal dress shops carry them but many for a hefty price). Sure, you can always sew your own if you’re crafty or even use super wide ribbon (still hard to find). But if you are looking for a unique, multifunctional option this might be it! American Apparel’s sash comes in a variety of colors and fabrics for $16! These are a little bit more casual but hey, get creative!
