I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! My stomach is still SO full. Lauren of Staunch forwarded this incredible wedding invitation idea – a wedding book! The couple had a great story to tell so they had a invitation book made to share their experiences as a couple and to invite their guests to their special day! Check out the post for more.

I hope everyone had an awesome Labor Day!! In keeping with the theme of the last post, I thought I’d share some more designs and prints that could inspire just about anyone! Old School Stationers is a talented letterpress company based on the west coast with organic ideas. It’s common for a couple getting married to use their shared hobbies for the theme of their wedding, especially in the favors so why not take it to the next level and use the theme for invites, etc! Love the retro camping series that they have on their site and the leaves! Check out the wall prints! Not sure if they do custom orders (worth a try though) but definitely take a peek for color and wedding design ideas!

I attended a Chicago wedding vendor party thrown by The Knot Magazine a couple weeks ago. I had the pleasure of meeting Heather, owner of Our Happy Wedding Day. All for green products myself, I thought it would be great to share these incredible invites – I’m sure you could use them for save the dates as well! Love the earthy design!

The groomsmen from the wedding I photographed in Nashville a couple weekends ago, wore fabric flowers in their boutonnieres, so adorable and sustainable! Check out the post for a close-up of the bout. They actually held up all day unlike real flowers. I loved the idea and after purchasing the recent Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, I noticed that it’s an up and coming trend for weddings! I thought I would share some of Martha’s tips on tissue and flowers as well as her tissue hanging pom-poms. By the way – very eco-friendly! April 22 is Earth Day! I thought it would be informative to share some eco-friendly ideas to help make your wedding day as green as can be! Many articles are saying that this is a trend, but I hope that these pointers can become a permanent choice in helping our environment – wedding or not. In my own digital photography workflow, I try to minimize as much paper as possible by communicating through email. My proofs are viewed only online, as well as the album proofs. All my ink cartridges are recycled, and I try to use reusable/recyclable papers and packing materials. Any bit helps! Check out ways you can help! (more…)

I have always been fascinated with great patterns and designs, and my recent trip to Paper Source inspired me to chat about the awesome things you can do with your wedding paper needs (invites, save the date cards, thank you notes, table cards, etc). One thing brides & grooms may not realize is that your save the date card or wedding invitation sets the tone of your upcoming wedding day. It’s your first impression so why not make it memorable!
