Candy bars have been the wedding reception craze for a while now. I definitely don’t see it stopping, but I do see hope for us savory-loving people! The concept remains the same – setting up a favor table with various spices for your guests to scoop into bags or mini jars. Or you can pre-assemble the spice favors yourself and place at your guests dinner setting. Why not attach a little recipe to the container using the spices provided?! Some even suggest providing spices that compliment your hors d’oeuvres or specialty cocktails. The ideas are endless! The colors and smells will lure them in and you can even come up with your own spice or rub mixture, check out this diy project! Season with love!

But the trend reports conquer! 2009 is all about the tangy, spicy, savory, exotic tastiness of your wedding cocktail hors d’oeuvres. Guilty pleasure = food network! I have to say my favorite shows are Barefoot Contessa and Everyday Italian…love the recipes, lighting, and the way the shows are captured.
