I recently received the cutest ‘will you be my bridesmaid’ card in the mail. It was sweet, hip and melted my heart! I’m a sucker for classy and sentimental acts of affection. Right me a letter not an email kind a gal if you really want to swoon me :) But it reminded me of the last meeting I had with a 2012 bride. She mentioned the above bridesmaid spools that she gave to her future bridal party to ask for their hand in bridesmaid marriage! I had to share! Your bridesmaids will be surprised and will forever have a warm fuzzy stamp in their heart.
What do you get when two creatives wed in the fall?! Pure yay! Kristen and Ben’s City Hall mini wedding was full of vintage inspirations, diy fall details (like the flowers, can you believe she designed and arranged them!?), lots of laughter, surprises and San Francisco charm. We met Ben at our first look spot and found a wedding date sign that he made then Kristen surprised Ben and family with a pop-up bag reception (including a banner, sparkling cider & Frank Sinatra via her ipod) outside in the plaza. Wondering where she got her dress, here! We had so much fun…this is what weddings are all about. Enjoy! (more…)
Yay! So excited to be featured on Grey Likes Weddings with Caroline & Andre’s Beltane Ranch wedding! Summer’s blog is polished, clean and fresh…lovelovelovelove! A big thanks to my fab 2nd shooter Jenna for helping with the fabulousness (btw, if you need a fashion photog she’s definitely your gal). Be sure to check out the whole feature here. THANKS!
Yay! Honored to have one of my wonderful couple’s wedding featured on Wedding Chicks this past Monday! I was in-flight for most of the day so just now posting on my blog ;) You’ll gush over all their handmade details! See their handmade California ranch wedding here!
Dreamy, dreamy, dreamy!! Caroline and Andres’s wedding was simply that. All the elements of a perfect wedding day mashed together and the best part – these two were just beaming at one another! Best yet, my dream of photographing at Beltane Ranch in Sonoma with the most fantastical couple came true. This handmade-with-love wedding will have you drooling over the gorgeous couple, family and friends along with the diy details. Big thanks to my lovely right-hand photo lady, Jenna! Enjoy the sneak peek! (more…)
Wow, it’s Wednesday already! Headed out-of-state again tomorrow for another wedding this weekend. I’m just all over the place! Denise and Dave – what a couple of love birds on their magical day. The midwest locusts hummed all day & night and families were as happy as can be. I was smitten with the whole day – their 1800’s Chicagoland home, handmade decor details, absolutely photogenic couple (although they were worried about being awkward in front of the camera!) and lively guests. I’m going to stop chatting away and let you know that you’ll need 2 cups of coffee for these images ;) Enjoy the sneak peek! (more…)
OoOoo so excited to finally share my new favorite clothing store in San Francisco with you! Best part?! It’s 4 blocks away from me! I recently stopped in with my camera to do a mini shoot of some of their goodies. I love the throwback concept of one-of-a-kind, custom made clothes, especially these days when you know every other person probably has that same shirt. The next best part?! Oh-so adorable wedding dresses for that perfect outdoor or garden wedding and complimenting laid back dresses for your bridesmaids. So here’s a little bit from Elinor and Evelyne of Eel & Ermine. I’m definitely not the traditional wedding type. We know that the garter wedding trend isn’t necessarily followed through these days. But these couture garters (designed by Claire) might change some of your minds! Vintage and modern combine to create a feminine whimsy. You have to check out all her handmade designs here. Btw, how adorable is the name Florrie Mitton!?!?
Happy Friday! I’ve been invited to be a guest contributor at Oh My! Handmade Goodness!, which is a community for independent children’s retailers and the hip parents who support them! Call me resident photographer! I’ll be writing (hopefully once a month) about all sorts of photo tips. Check out my first post here. (and don’t forget to read the last paragraph, could be your lucky day).
After squeaking in excitement from viewing these images, it all came to me…these secret weddings, elopements and smaller weddings seem to be popping up more than usual. I’ve even photographed more in the last few months than ever. So this post isn’t just about showing the most adorable secret wedding (you’ll die when you see the details) in Central Park but proving that these intimate affairs are on the rise in 2010! You can probably thank the budgets and appreciation for intimate romantic settings for this trend ;)
