Greetings from afar! Not really but wow have I been blog m.i.a right? Tis the holiday season, not to mention a very busy wedding season is now over. I’m wayyyyy behind on showcasing some of the fun projects that I’ve had a pleasure photographing this year. So I will do my best to get those all up between now and into the new year. Wow, the new year…CRAZY! This past summer Hello!Lucky and I started dating a bit…and well things hit it off! I’ve been very fortunate to have photographed several hero and detail shots of their social stationery (wedding invitations, save the dates, personal stationery), baby announcements, greeting cards and postcards and last but not least their famous holiday cards. You can see a good chunk of our work together on their brand spankin new website that launched in early November. I’m so fortunate to have our photos featured in their print ads for Real Simple and Anthology magazine along with Design Sponge and several other blogs. Lots more to come from us so watch out ;) Hello!Lucky cheers to you on all big new things. For trusting my prop styling and all in all – being the fantastic creative force that you are. Clink to the HL family of sales, printing, designers…YOU ROCK! Enjoy some of my favorites in this part one… (more…)
Warning: soggy yet adorable wedding beat the rain with a ton of cheer!! Sure, we could have let this completely outdoor wedding lose against the rain. But my oh-so cute couple, Rebecca and David (remember his Whole Foods Parking Lot hilarity?), kept our spirits high with constant jokes, laughter and mucho dancing while internally we were all scrambling ;) I’ll be honest, it was my last wedding of the season, and the rain definitely had me a bit deflated. But no, the lovebirds kept going – game for whatever we could do and let me tell you….this wedding is beyond bright on all levels! A wee-bit bohemian mixed with rustic handmade details tossed with modern flair and finished with an amazing berry and red color palette (and glittery mary-jane flats), you’ll swoon. Not to mention a buffet of Miette cakes! Huge thanks to Silvana, my right-hand photo woman for the day. So here’s a personal shout out to R & D – may we continue the 80s/ 90s rockin hip-hop/r&b playlist with this and this – thank you for being a blast! Enjoy this sneak! (more…)
I’m dreaming of stuffing, green bean casserole and mashed potatoes! The night before Thanksgiving, and yes I have a sneak for you! Tricia and Jay married in the oh-so chic Milwaukee Art Museum (architects can I hear a yeah!). The day was full of play, laughter, gorgeous lace (wowza of a wedding dress & retro veil, her mother’s originally) and wedding cheer! Not to mention my first time in Wisconsin (yum cheese curds and coffee), and the dance floor looked like a hip MTV music video right in front of me! The day before the wedding we did a mini engagement session at Alterra Coffee Shop on the lake where Jay proposed! Big thanks to my right-hand photo lady Jessie. Enjoy this sneak! Maybe you’ll ooo and ahh so much that you’ll burn calories before the big feast tomorrow! (more…)
I recently received the cutest ‘will you be my bridesmaid’ card in the mail. It was sweet, hip and melted my heart! I’m a sucker for classy and sentimental acts of affection. Right me a letter not an email kind a gal if you really want to swoon me :) But it reminded me of the last meeting I had with a 2012 bride. She mentioned the above bridesmaid spools that she gave to her future bridal party to ask for their hand in bridesmaid marriage! I had to share! Your bridesmaids will be surprised and will forever have a warm fuzzy stamp in their heart.
What do you get when two creatives wed in the fall?! Pure yay! Kristen and Ben’s City Hall mini wedding was full of vintage inspirations, diy fall details (like the flowers, can you believe she designed and arranged them!?), lots of laughter, surprises and San Francisco charm. We met Ben at our first look spot and found a wedding date sign that he made then Kristen surprised Ben and family with a pop-up bag reception (including a banner, sparkling cider & Frank Sinatra via her ipod) outside in the plaza. Wondering where she got her dress, here! We had so much fun…this is what weddings are all about. Enjoy! (more…)
An extra special treat to show you! I don’t normally photograph maternity (baby or family) sessions unless they are past brides/grooms of mine. I usually leave it to the other pros that specialize in this genre ;) But it was a special treat to photograph Brieanne and Brandon’s baby bump (not so baby, she’s due this month!!) as I photographed their wedding in late 2007. We wanted a relaxed, casual vibe highlighting them as a couple and the gorgeousness of San Francisco…not to mention avoiding cheesiness at all costs. We were beyond successful! These were a few favorites of mine: warning cozy blanket cuddling alert!! (more…)
Yay! I’m showing you a sneak which means wedding production is moving along! (weddings left & right hang tight) Annette and Danny, what can I say? Her dimples, his dapper ways, their charming smiles and oh-so cute sneaky looks at each other. There’s nothing you can’t love about this classic and upscale meets handmade San Francisco wedding! And what a great and swanky blank canvas Terra Art Gallery provides! Annette even designed ALL the paper goods! Thanks to my second in photo command Jenna. Enjoy this sneak!! (more…)
This maid-of-honor is going to give it to you straight! Chances are you’re all in different cities/states. You all have different tastes. Luckily, bridesmaid wedding trends have gone casual yet still sophisticated so now there’s an actual chance that you’ll wear your dress again, yay :) Once the bride has decided on her bridesmaid look it’s time to get organized especially if she has decided on a variety of styles. I’m a believer that the maid-of-honor literally becomes the executive assistant to the bride. So how do you communicate the wardrobe the ladies (do this for guys too!) should try, buy, wear? Make a visual board! Do it digitally or physically but do it! Here’s the one I made for my friend’s December 30th winter wedding: warm gray color palette. (more…)
Yay!!! Btw, I’m back in San Francisco and catching up with emails so hang tight! It was so hard being patient to see Hello! Lucky’s newly designed website on a large screen :) I had the pleasure of photographing some of the hero shots for the new website (styled banners for each category & holiday) along with other fun details! You’ll see more of my images for them popping up via their website, blog and ads! CONGRATS to the HL team – you guys are incredible!! Cheers!! I’ll try to post some images from our photo shoots in the next coming weeks.
Whew! This past weekend my bff flew into SF for a girlie bachelorette weekend! I was a bit disgusted when hunting for fun props for her to wear on her big night out…even searched Etsy. So what did this maid-of-honor-who-loves-crafting do?! I made one of course! I wanted it to scream fun and girlie not veils and body parts (catching my drift). Here’s a rough and quick how-to for a diy bachelorette badge! (more…)
