By some miracle, I was able to avoid being sick during the Christmas holiday. Well, the sick bug has decided to greet me for 2011, and I feel like death. Wooooo. Chicken noodle soup won’t do this time (yucky stomach) but some funny and cute cat photos might do. Congrats to all the newlyweds and stationery geniuses I photographed this past year and may 2011 bring love, laughter and a fresh new start to all my friends and loved ones. I’ll be saving my confetti canons for next year and instead, I give you a 2010 year in review of my sweet cats through the IPhone lens in 2 parts. CHEERS TO 2011!!!! xoxoxo

Happy Monday and Christmas week! Last night, I went into full-force baby shower planning mode. I’m hosting a friend’s co-ed baby shower in February. Somewhat a surprise now, I’ll be sure to share the paper/decor goodies process as it comes. Of course, I found something fabulous while hunting for all things stripes. Polka dot paper party straws!! Of course, I still love the vintage-like striped straws but these change things up a bit ;) The online bake shops have the best selection of fun, quirky, cute packaging goods! Yay for these guys! And hope to see more pop up. Vintage and antiques have been a huge trend for weddings but it’s often a lot of work. If I had the time to fabulously sip coffee while hunting for goods at the flea markets everyday…I would. But let’s face it, not going to happen. Great trend of 2011, renting vintage and antique decor for your weddings! Loving the idea and loving small start-ups! Not to mention, reuse! Ribbons & Rust has it all!

In case you’re interested, Pantone released the color of 2011: Honeysuckle! An earthy kind of pink, slightly darker than what you see here so be sure to check out more here. Will we see it in the wedding trends of 2011…probably ;)

I knew after seeing Caroline’s (past bride) shoes that she was onto something super cute! And here we are, the lovelies behind pretty headbands are now onto shoe clips. Spot on, spot on.

I am very much in the holiday spirit this year! And while I’d LOVE to throw a big cozy bash, well, our place isn’t quite big enough. So inviting my closest family and friends for an intimate, diy ornament party (with cocktails of course)! I can’t believe how budget-friendly it’s going to be. Clear glass ornament packs from Michaels were super cheap (under $5 for pack of 6). And most of the stuffings I had laying around. Above is what I have collected/made so far: holiday ribbons, cut up bead/tinsel garland, rub-on stickers, glitter, washi tape, multi-colored confetti (yay for hole punchers), craft pipe cleaner candy canes and for the nature lovers; yarn wrapped twigs and reindeer moss. Can’t wait to see what little stuffed environments we make at my Deck the Balls party!

Friday Greetings! I had a lovely pampering session at my salon’s holiday party this afternoon. Good chit-chat, food and Aveda products, yes please. I, also, found out that the cutie pie that I spoke to every time I went in or made an appt with, Molly, is a graphic designer by trade. Her envelope security liner holiday cards are not to miss, and I fell in love with her alphabet poster! Did you know she was voted 7×7 Magazine’s favorite Bay Area Etsy store? Where have I been?!
