I’m absolutely obsessed with all things opposites these days! Jcrew has spoiled us with looks of military, preppy, hipster mixed with hints of sparkle and glitter. My favorite is when preppy brown meets sparkly glitter! Your bridesmaids would look oh-so lovely in this casual elegance of a style.
I’ve seen several of us dreaming of vacations lately! I don’t blame you, need one myself. But finding one that’s budget-friendly is the big dilemma. Honeymoon trends are showing more signs of diy or even better piy (plan it yourself) trips and I like it! Sure, it can be time consuming but how about you just travel around in an Airstream for a week while picnicking on beaches, hiking, reading, resting and well, you know what else ;) This is my dream! The rest of the photos and styling are amazing be sure to click on the link above!
My dear friends’ diy baby shower is featured on On To Baby today! Yay! Super cute new blog for babies, mommies and mommies with babies from the Wedding Chicks. Be sure to check out our pop-up baby shower here, be sure to explore the rest of the site and for more images check out my post here.
Terri and Adam – what can I say?! Incredible energy and just plain FUN! Remember their urban engagement session here? It’s not often that I hope for snow in Chicago but this time I begged mother nature and nada. At least my flight to Chicago was without delay, but it was sad to see all the snow from Snowpocalypse melted. It’s not everyday you have a couple that wants to play in the snow on their wedding day :) So instead we threw confetti, enjoyed Montrose Harbor and continued our adventure in the nooks and crannies of Architectural Artifacts antiques! Thank you Amy for your creative eye. Now let’s dive into this periwinkle blue and red color goodness wedding! (more…)
Jumping for joy this Wednesday to my little photo silo of Cheree Berry’s New York City skyline invitation featured in Darcy’s Editor Note! It’s small contribution but put a mighty smile on my face today ;) Page 44 to be exact. The magazine is wedding heaven and full of fantastically dreamy details. Cheers to Spring! See how the skyline was used for the menu here and the whole invitation suite here.
Oh dear, cuteness. Little Baby Emme made my heart melt the second I flew into Chicago last week. Remember Liz & Mike? I had the pleasure of photographing their first little one (not even 2 weeks old!), and she made quite the impression on me. Her home was filled with love and peace…such a delight. She’s going to grow up with incredible family surrounding her. During our session, we laughed together, cried a bit, ate a little and slept most of it :) Cheers! (more…)
Last weekend was delightfully eventful! I flew to Chicago to photograph a fun wedding and threw our dear friends the best.baby.shower.ever! (Remember their diy paper pop-up invitations?) I’m still bowing down to the best little helper friends a girl could ask for! Without your help, this could not have happened. The day was full of love, laughter, gourmet potluck goodies, handmade details and rain while cozing up fireside at Suzanne Cummings Flowers. Nat and Jeff, Cheers to your first little baby kiwi girl! You and her will be loved forever, from Auntie Edyta. (more…)
We are officially post Valentine’s Day, how many of you are newly engaged?! CONGRATS! Because of you and the fact that we are approaching engagement photography season, it’s time to share some of my favorite creative engagement sessions. Couples can go about in several different ways (heavily staged, props, simple portraits), but I like my couples to think about it as a date! Whether it’s day or evening, at home or out, a dates a date! It allows for movement, talking, cuddling and for the photographer to get to know your personality better. Think about what you like to do together? What do you wish you did more of together? What’s fun and relaxing for you? Here’s some engagement photography eye-candy for you: The Classic, The Sunday Morning Stroll, The Artistically Playful, The Urban
Ah Valentine’s Day. You can let the media make you grumpy about it or you can embrace the day with a little love. Jman and I like to keep things simple and out of the hype. My new best friend, Pinterest, has me visually over stimulated with all kinds of goodies. Some of my Valentine’s Day favorites: dreamy, cozy, romantic, indulgent and effortless. How about you?
