Wowza, a definite holiday staple piece you’ll never want to take down. Scot Meacham Wood, famed interior designer, showed us how to make a lush and luxe holiday wreath in minutes! Such a fun project! See the full article here. (more…)
I was extra thankful for our besties in 2012. We had incredible times, made memories and bonded like no other. Our besties are our family. So I made some ‘thankful for’ gifts to place on their beds during a Thanksgiving getaway in Mendocino. After Instagramming, my favorite Rue Mag decided to feature the project :) View the full article here. (more…)
Oh man do I love to shoot food. It’s where I started my professional photography career and hope to continue here and there. I photographed super fun shoot last fall 2012 (not to mention super yummy too) of San Francisco’s Central Kitchen’s yummy signature smoked trout dish. Delicious photos with a delicious recipe. You can’t beat that. See the full article here. (more…)
I told ya I am a little behind on blog posts :) I had the lovely pleasure of photographing Caitlin Flemming (of Sacramento Street) and her hubbie in their adorable San Francisco apartment for Camille Styles blog in 2012. I told ya I said I was behind!! Their space is such a delight…one of those spaces so well designed that just when you think you’ve gawked at everything you find something new to love. Thanks for the feature Camille! Check out the full feature here. (more…)
Such an adorable mini wedding! Julene and Emerson (the cutest names right?) decided to have a teeny ceremony at San Francisco’s City Hall with 4 of their friends, a cupcake exit and rockin outdoor woodland portrait session in the Presidio after. One of the best Mondays ever! They were game for anything. We laughed, made funny faces, tested Emerson’s jumping abilities, ate Kara’s Cupcakes and spent the lovey dovey afternoon carefree. It was so hard to pick my favorites so this post has a bit more than usual ;) Enjoy the sneak! (more…)
Yep! The little birdie, fly on the wall, grapevine, word on the street was right – Jared and I are officially engaged! Late April means 11 years since our first date. Time sure does fly :) Never in a rush, we explored the world and strived for greatness all while supporting each other. Timing just feels right now. So here we are! I know you want to hear about the behind the scenes :) Well, we are definitely romantic in our own way and aren’t really keen on the ‘standard’ or ‘traditional’ so I told him not to get down on one knee. Ever. Or to have the pressure of buying the perfect ring – we’ve been together for 11 years, why not do it together!? We’ve talked for months regarding wedding day details (I’m in the industry duh!) and we basically mapped out the feeling of our big day before any official engagement. It happened one night, laying in bed doing our normal chit-chat routine, we decided to ask each other. Casual, cuddly and emotionally charged as we both asked each other, “will you marry me?”. Perfection.
And of course, we had to think of a unique way to let our family and friends know. A call, text and social media announcement just wasn’t going to cut it for us ;) We were inspired by the word search puzzles. So we designed, crafted away (hired some amazing people to help us) and snail mailed a anonymous surprise message via a word search puzzle as the sole way for everyone to find out our news. Keeping a secret like this for 10 DAYS is incredibly hard – especially when you have fun social things planned with the ones you love. But we did it! I want to give Ryanne Steele a HUGE MEGA thanks for the fantastic calligraphy on our envelopes. She’s an emerging calligraphy talent and went over the moon to get these to us in time. You can find some of her work on IG @steelemyheart and please email me info(at)edytaszyszlo.com for her direct contact info. Her website is still in the works. Enjoy the images, I hope you find them inspirational and fun! And yes, this was mostly a diy so I’ll include some tips at the end of the post. (more…)
With our poppies and magnolias in bloom, there was no better time for Sarah and Mo to fly out to San Francisco for their lovely love shoot :) We all know Chicago’s winter can last until June! The goal was to capture this food-loving pair in a casual yet fresh environment enjoying each other in city life…and I think we did exactly that! Such a sweet and genuine couple, I’m beyond excited for their wine country wedding day with Jacin of lovely little details. These guys give me the warm fuzzies, and I’m super giddy with how our photos came out. Enjoy the sneak! (more…)
Shelley and Chris…a couple of giggly romantics that claimed they were not photogenic…so wrong! Well, the giggly romantic part is so them, and they proved to be nothing but carefree in front of the camera. I loved it! We visited the North Beach neighborhood to do their engagement session, and Chris was full of all kinds of memories :) I love it when my couples let go of their inhibitions and just trust that we’ll have a good time. That we did! It was also awesome to see all the new shops and restaurants mixing with the timeless. Ladies, take a good long gander at her ring and tell me it’s not gorgeous!! Enjoy this sneak! Excited for your wedding day!! (more…)
Happy Friday! It sure snuck up on me. I’ve been battling a severe sick bug all week that’s been no fun. Seeing this feature pop up all over the place yesterday sure brightened my week :) I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Victoria and her lovely San Francisco apartment a few weeks ago for The Every Girl. SFgirlbybay blog is known for savvy interior design, art/culture and everything cool, boho and oh-so pretty. If I could have moved into her Victoria’s apartment, I would. Sleep on the floor…I don’t care :) I love that our city has such inspirational ladies! It’s a great read so enjoy the feature here! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot… (more…)
Wowza is this a pretty wedding! Slowly but surely I’ll be showcasing the rest of my fabulous weddings from 2012! Some I can’t show completely as they will be featured…but I can sneak a few in. Christine and Fred, what can I say? The sweetest lovebirds on the planet?! Yep. Gentle spirits, low key and full of appreciation for the pretty. We had some of the best wedding vendors in the SF Bay Area collaborating on this super adorable farmhouse chic themed wedding at Clos La Chance Winery. Blush pinks, succulents and FAB textured linens! Thank you Kara for being my right-hand photo woman, you’re a rockstar! Enjoy this incredibly dreamy day! (more…)
