Wow, it’s Wednesday already! Headed out-of-state again tomorrow for another wedding this weekend. I’m just all over the place! Denise and Dave – what a couple of love birds on their magical day. The midwest locusts hummed all day & night and families were as happy as can be. I was smitten with the whole day – their 1800’s Chicagoland home, handmade decor details, absolutely photogenic couple (although they were worried about being awkward in front of the camera!) and lively guests. I’m going to stop chatting away and let you know that you’ll need 2 cups of coffee for these images ;) Enjoy the sneak peek! (more…)

It’s August already, can you believe it?! This month, my Jman turns the big 3-0! I am throwing him a Mad Men style bash at a swanky, vintage and super teeny restaurant/lounge in downtown San Francisco. We have family and friends coming in town to join the rest of our SF folks to celebrate in style (no longer a surprise ;). While I love saving a tree, this occasion seemed perfect for a little diy paper invitation! Check out the rest… (more…)

We have dessert bars, cocktail bars, candy bars, spice bars, seed bars but a perfume/scent bar? YES PLEASE! Buffets of yummies or goodies have raided the wedding market for the past handful of years. The last couple years, it’s gained huge popularity because of it’s decor ability and providing guests with a fun and memorable activity. Digging this bridal shower’s perfume bar – you could add some earthy men’s scents as well as flirty & floral women’s. Suggest a couple of favorite perfume combinations, small jars with labels and poof – a very memorable and personal favor for your guests! Seek out a custom scent companies for the best approach.

Goodness gracious! So simple and yet so genius! A lovely way to spruce up your clear bottles and jars while maintaining a polished look. (if you’re anything like me sometimes those diy projects look a little too ‘diy’…but you can’t go wrong with this method!). A fab wedding centerpiece arrangement, I think so. A couple weeks ago not only was I spring cleaning, but I had to create a little centerpiece for the ’secret project’ I’m working on…which means I had a mini photo shoot! Two things were decided: I wanted to incorporate birch (because I’m just in love with it) and wanted to spruce up a simple vase. BAM! I came up with birch sleeved vases with diy brooches, fabric flowers and ribbon bouts aka the all-in-one ‘vase boutonniere’! (more…)

After squeaking in excitement from viewing these images, it all came to me…these secret weddings, elopements and smaller weddings seem to be popping up more than usual. I’ve even photographed more in the last few months than ever. So this post isn’t just about showing the most adorable secret wedding (you’ll die when you see the details) in Central Park but proving that these intimate affairs are on the rise in 2010! You can probably thank the budgets and appreciation for intimate romantic settings for this trend ;)
