Candy bars have been the wedding reception craze for a while now. I definitely don’t see it stopping, but I do see hope for us savory-loving people! The concept remains the same – setting up a favor table with various spices for your guests to scoop into bags or mini jars. Or you can pre-assemble the spice favors yourself and place at your guests dinner setting. Why not attach a little recipe to the container using the spices provided?! Some even suggest providing spices that compliment your hors d’oeuvres or specialty cocktails. The ideas are endless! The colors and smells will lure them in and you can even come up with your own spice or rub mixture, check out this diy project! Season with love!

Hope you had a great weekend! While you are reading this, I’m headed out of state for a product photo assignment. I couldn’t leave you hanging all week so I found you some fabulous wedding-related Etsy finds to gawk over (like this eco-friendly napkin holder/bird feeder and table place card). Handmade crafts for weddings equals trend of 2009 for sure. I’ll be out for most of the week but promise to have good things when I come back!

I was reminded of how playful and whimsical cotton candy was while on my trip to Las Vegas. Our hotel had a great buffet including a fabulous dessert bar with pink cotton candy! I love the pastel colors and fluffiness! Dessert tables have become very common at weddings, so why not add a fun sweet treat like cotton candy! On the left – pink cotton candy inside zig-zag Container Store holders. On the right – custom dyed cotton candy spun around rock candy. Here are some more great ideas… (more…)

Said to be a new trend (although this idea has been used many times before), lets just say it’s said to be more popular in weddings in 2009. I’m a believer in using your local harvest and resources…mix it with a small wedding budget, and you have incredible food and decor! Vegetables and fruits in bouquets, centerpieces and favors add a rustic feeling to the decor. From your own garden to farm stand finds – the fruits of our labor is the way to go! The images are from Susan & Steven’s upstate NY wedding featured in Martha Stewart – amazing and simple details. (more…)
