Greetings from San Francisco! We arrived this past Saturday night…whew what a long day of travel (did I mention we had 2 cats with us?!?). Today is my first day back to the grind of photo production :) I won’t be fully set-up with my equipment until our movers arrive in a week and a half or so but doing what I can until then! We had a great day of apartment hunting and bbqing yesterday. Might have a great San Fran apartment in a couple days! Will keep you posted! But in the meantime, letting you swoon over these amazing prints from Ork Posters! We received the green one above as a gift this past Christmas and finally looking forward to hanging it up!

Yup, that’s right…I left it and I brought it back! We are officially headed to San Francisco Saturday the 18th, long day of travel ahead with all we could pack and carry (plus 2 cats) on an airplane. This week will be devoted to apartment hunting. No stuff until a lease is signed…SO I ask your patience with me as I will not have my files with me for a while :( Also, don’t forget Renegade Craft Fair is THIS weekend at Fort Mason San Francisco!!
J and I drove out to California once a few years back, what a time that was! It was the first time I witnessed the fields of wind generators and desert tumble weeds :)

Shhhh….can you hear the blog crickets? Yup, it’s been a while, sorry!! I traveled back to Chicago last Thursday for a product photography shoot, mixed in with friends and ended with an adorable baby photo session! So I’m back in St. Louis for a few days now. On the agenda this week – fabulous photos from my shoot with Paperly and Calleigh with a couple splashes of packing, organizing and stressing ;) Thanks for the image above Frank & Colleen and for my reader’s patience!!!! Btw, we officially fly into San Francisco this Saturday evening!

Today marks exactly one week since I’ve been in St. Louis. Thought it’d be nice for you to get a brief update! It’s been great hanging out with J’s family, finishing up weddings and catching up on album orders. Living out of a suitcase not so much fun, but hey, things could be worse! Desher adjusted without any issues – she owns the place already :) Boris took a little longer but is finally coming around. We received news that J might have to start his job much earlier than planned so we’ve been under some planning stress. Still a lot of questions and no answers. In the meantime, I’m taking advantage of the garage space and decided to do any painting or furniture adjusting before our move to San Francisco. City dwellers, you know how hard it is to do anything in a teeny space! So I’ve started painting our ikea bed frame yellow! And will be hunting for new sheets & duvet soon! (more…)

It’s Monday AND it’s moving day (if this is new to you – we are relocating back to San Francisco with a pit stop in St. Louis for the month of July). This post was hard for me to put together. So many options…I had a folder made of great photos of friends, but the more I looked at them the harder it was to not be sad. Chicago you’ve been good to us. The winters were hard (really hard) but the old and new friends you brought us were beyond excellent. Sure I’ll have memories of the landmarks but the good times were with the people we love as family – they will be more than missed. So while we drive away, I’m going to keep this short and sweet with a quote from my favorite childhood author.
“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss.
