Videos are all the rage. But now, videos have entered the wedding world. I have to admit, it takes some special skills to make it look just right (there are plenty not-so-good ones out there, so look into hiring a videographer – some even include it in their packages these days!). A trend that started in 2009, will go all out in 2010. Added bonus is that it’s eco-friendly! Check out some of my favs here, here, here, here.

::Swoon:: Not only do I absolutely drool over the work of Annabel and Dorothée, but take note of this couple’s elegant and charming wedding attire. Patterned, charcoal gray suit, yes please. Knee-length wedding dress with fabulous detail, yes please. Trend of 2010, better be!! Check out more from this wedding here.

Top Indie Wedding Artisans of 2009 from Brides.com

2009 was a HUGE year for wedding trends especially for the hip, indie bride! Not only did the diy train take-off later in the year, but I think the handmade artisans and crafters led the whole way! I’m definitely one of ‘their’ biggest fans and supporters. Indie artisans keep on rocking into 2010 and beyond! Check out the rest of the favorite indie artisans here. Please include your favorites in the comments, let’s share and mingle!

ps – come see me at the first ever Indie Wed on Jan. 30th in Chicago! If all goes well, maybe it will make it’s way to San Francisco soon!

Trends of 2010 – DIY Eco-Friendly Wedding Exit Confetti

Paper, Planning, Wedding Trends 2010 — Edyta @ 4:18 AM

eco-friendly wedding exit confetti

The wedding I currently have in my post-production inspired this one!  Since the days of rice throwing, weddings really haven’t had much action in the exit confetti department. Sure, it’s a hassle – from clean up, to wasteful and wedding budget-cuts…exit confetti has seen better days. As a photographer seeking action in my shots, confetti is a great way to add a little emotional punch to your wedding exit (ya it has historical tradition too). You can purchase biodegradable confetti here and here.  You can also create your own with unique punch-outs or my favorite idea from dried herbs (lavender being most popular)!! Oooo la la!  You can even sew cute little sachets with vintage fabric to add a colorful pop to hands of the aisle guests.  I love this couple’s alternative with paper airplanes!  Now you have no excuse :)

Seems funny to say that this is a new trend, but I truly feel that brides are finally letting go of the “I have to grow my hair out for the wedding day” idea!  Yay!  I think we’ll see this trend sparkle in 2010 – mainly because brides are coming into their own style and money isn’t flowing as it used to.  So rock what you feel most comfortable in whether it’s long or short!  Check out more here & runway updo trends for 2010.

Trends of 2010 – Video Wedding Invitations

Amazing!!  I’m calling out this trend myself as I’ve seen a couple save the date or wedding invitation videos out there.  But this one….this one is superb!  With the financial crunch, couple’s are getting a little more inventive with their wedding details.  And with the growing popularity of wedding websites, videos seem like a no-brainer.  It definitely saves some trees :)
